100 days of gratitude

Before this New Year began, I purchased a gratitude journal; it’s a book, which requires you to journal a list of things everyday that you have been grateful for.


Throughout my studying of forex, the mindset is a massive area; you can’t have the life you want without the right mindset! I have increasingly become more aware of my life, took on a more positive attitude and tried to stay positive as much as I can.


I purchased the journal, as I wanted to start becoming more aware of little things throughout the day that I’m grateful for without realising or acknowledging it. At the end of everyday or sometimes in intervals throughout the day I record in it what I have been grateful for, it’s a time for reflection and my aim is to, at the end of the 100 days of gratitude, have become aware of what I’m grateful for in the moment as they happen, to be aware of every aspect of my life, and try to see the positive in even negative situations.


I’ve never been one for diary writing or journaling, but as a trader this is something I have to get used to, getting into routine and order, so keeping and writing in a journal everyday is not something i was great at, but to my surprise I’ve remembered everyday, with an excitement to reflect and I’ve managed to write 11 things everyday, which is harder than it seems.


So what do I write? When people ask what you’re grateful for many often respond with the generic answers, such as, food to eat, clothes to wear, good health, a roof over you’re head. Although everyone including myself is grateful for these things, I tried to focus on things other than that, like if someone did something nice for me, or a stranger saying hello on a morning walk, little things that keep me happy and positive throughout the day that I’m grateful for without realising!


Being positive and grateful for the little things in your life allows you to receive more to be grateful for. Even if you don't purchase the book, its a really good idea to reflect on your day, before you go to sleep, in order just to be mindful of what it is you have received and in order to be ready to receive more and live a much more positive lifestyle, whilst only changing the parameters of the mind.
